Monochromatic Wedding Inspiration: Spring at Jupiter Next

This editorial is a stunning example of monochromatic wedding inspiration. With spring in Portland in mind, I collaborated with photographer, Casi Yost, on this modern, monochromatic, springtime editorial to give couples inspiration and showcase some of the beautiful blooms available during this time of year.

Venue

The floral design by Swoon Floral Design showcased the beauty of Portland floral design. The venue, Jupiter next is a hotel in the heart of Portland, Oregon. It has a fun, modern vibe and it was the perfect backdrop. I loved how the cement wall and floor created a blank canvas. There is so much opportunity to create a beautiful event in this space

The tables were adorned with beautiful spring wedding flowers. The modern wedding decor featured sleek lines and minimalist design. Designing a monochromatic palette, lends to being able to combine different textures and shapes to ensure flowers and other decor stand out amongst each other. I chose a textured linen as the base of the table, the serpentine shaped table. White chairs and simple white plates played beautifully off the linen.

I kept the flower varieties simple on the tables only using white lilac, ranunculus, flowering dogwood.

Candles were in textured, ribbed or clear glass containers for a sleek, modern look.

A pop of black on the table came through the menus designed by Mekela at Tie That Binds.

The floral varieties in the bridal bouquet were also simple: lilac, spirea, flowering dogwood, ranunculus and panda anemone for a pop of black. I love that the bouquet worked with both looks for the model; a modern white suit, and also a more traditional wedding gown.

The cake, invitation suite, and ceremony backdrop were all simple, but textural. All embracing the monochromatic theme.
